Residents at Amington Park in good heart

Residents at Amington Park in good heartResidents of Amington Park, in Staffordshire, decided to get together last year to raise funds to purchase a defibrillator for the park.

Significant donations were received from leading park home insurer Towergate Insurance, park owner Tom Hartley and Tamworth Borough Council and these, combined with matched funding from the British Heart Foundation enabled the new equipment to be installed on the park.

A number of residents have been fully trained to use the equipment but hopefully they will not be called upon too often! This is a great example of how park home residents can work together and really make a difference.

Commenting on their donation Paul Baker, Park Home Account Director at Towergate Insurance said, ‘I met a number of residents from the park at the World of Park and Leisure Homes Show last year and was delighted to be able to help them with their very worthwhile appeal. It’s brilliant that through their hard work and commitment their efforts have reached fruition and the new equipment has now been installed.’

Park resident John Hodgetts said, ‘Thank you for making this possible. Hopefully this will never have to be used but if it saves one life it is money well spent.

‘Many park homes are situated in quite rural and isolated locations so having this equipment on site can really make a difference.’
