Campaigning president of residents’ group retires

Campaigning president of residents’ group retiresThe national president of one of the country’s foremost national residents’ groups has retired. Joan Aylott retired from her role at the Independent Park Home Advisory Service (IPHAS) in September. For well over 20 years Joan worked unstintingly for residents up and down the country, initially with NAPHR and then for IPHAS.

She has worked hard to try to improve the lives and the security of park home residents and she is pleased that at long last there is new legislation in place.

Joan has given hundreds of hours of her time to answering queries from residents, printing out pamphlets and dispatching them, arranging meetings, liaising with her team of voluntary advisors and handling all aspects of the administrative work of IPHAS.

.

Although she is taking a rest from the majority of her duties, she will nevertheless remain as president of IPHAS and hopes to attend some of its meetings in future.

To mark her retirement, Joan and her husband Ernie (who is also an assistant with the IPHAS team) were presented with an engraved fruit bowl. We are sure that hundreds of residents who have received help from Joan over the years will join with PH&HC in wishing Joan and Ernie a well-earned, long and happy retirement.
