Bridge Leisure’s third purchase

Bridge Leisure’s third purchaseUK caravan park specialist Bridge Leisure has completed the acquisition of its third destination following the purchase of Turnberry Holiday Park in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland.

The Bridge Leisure group now comprises three owned holiday parks – the others are Trevella Park in Cornwall and Sand le Mere in Yorkshire – and seven managed holiday parks in destinations including the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, North West, North East and the Scottish Borders.

Turnberry Holiday Park is set within 26 acres of rural parkland, just 300 metres from the coast and with panoramic unspoilt views of the Firth of Clyde and the striking island of Ailsa Craig.

The four-star holiday park has a bar and restaurant, children’s play area and arcade.

Bridge Leisure will invest around £350,000 on developments at the park in 2013, to include the creation of a new indoor swimming pool and new static caravan accommodation. The company has a longer term plan to develop new pitches for holiday home ownership and to continue increasing the capacity for holidaymakers.

Andrew Howe, chief executive at Bridge Leisure says: ‘Turnberry is an exciting addition to the Bridge Leisure group and we look forward to driving growth at the park in 2013 and beyond, in the same way we have at our other owned parks.

‘There are plenty of challenges in the travel sector at the moment, however we are confident that the market for UK holidays is robust and people will continue to look for great quality, great value holidays in beautiful parts of the UK.’
