Having a ball!

Having a ball!Showing that some holiday businesses are beating the recession, five-star Sandy Balls Holiday Village is celebrating a record 2012, with an impressive growth in sales and the best year in its 90-year history. It’s the fifth consecutive year the New Forest-based holiday centre has experienced growth and the owners are now looking to make significant investment in the facilities.

Sandy Balls says that it has benefitted from the ongoing revival in the Great British holiday, with more and more people turning their backs on foreign trips and an increasing trend towards short breaks. More than £100,000 is now being ploughed into new premium lodges on the park, situated next to the nature reserve and overlooking the forest. Some £95,000 is being invested in new caravans and, following the success of its Vista shared ownership scheme, the business is developing a second phase.

Sandy Balls Managing Director Iain Brown enthused, ‘The business has gone from strength to strength over the last five years. These latest results have far outweighed our predictions and targets. We have worked extremely hard to deliver the kind of quality and experience that we know our visitors are looking for. We are in a great position to make some significant investment into our facilities.’
