Legislation progress in Wales

Consumer Focus’s report on the future of park home living in Wales was launched in Cardiff on 16 October.

Consumer Focus had urged residents to write to their Assembly Members and tell them to support changes to the law for park home residents.
There was also a second event in mid Wales on 17 October at the Hotel Commodore, in Llandrindod Wells, Powys.

Meetings have been, and will continue to be, held between Consumer Focus and ten Assembly Members who sit on the committee which will be scrutinising the new Mobile Homes Bill in Wales.

.

Consumer Focus is very keen to ensure that the committee members understand how important their priorities are.

These are listed as: removal of the ‘sale blocking’ veto; a new proactive fit and proper person test for park site operators and park site managers; more powers and resources for local authorities to act against rogue site owners; clear, easily available information and advice for residents, including a website and a helpline.
