New home concept

NovHolNewsConceptOne of the UK’s largest touring caravan manufacturers, Bailey of Bristol, has launched an all-new concept in the world of holiday accommodation. Bridging the gap between static holiday caravans and touring caravans, the new Bailey Retreat caravans are ‘supersize’ touring caravans. The company noticed that an increasing number of touring caravanners were buying large caravans and keeping them on the same campsite all year, paying for a seasonal pitch. Effectively these caravans were being used like static holiday homes, but without the size advantages of a modern static caravan.

The Retreat caravans are therefore built much larger than even the largest twin-axle touring caravans (though still much smaller than most statics) and have to be towed to the site by a commercial vehicle – the idea is that the supplying dealer will deliver the caravan to the site chosen by the customer. The advantage, when compared to a static caravan, is that it’s relatively easy to move the unit to a new site each year, if you wanted to.

.

Some operators of static holiday caravan parks have already shown interest in the concept, and a fleet of Retreat caravans could complement an existing fleet of static caravans.

There are currently two models in the retreat line-up, the Willow and the Sycamore, with process starting at just over £22,000. For more information, visit www.bailey-retreats.co.uk
