A breath of fresh air from Tingdene

Octpknews69airThe current economic climate has not been kind to businesses over recent years, and Tingdene has been no exception. However it is fighting back and, bringing its 43 years of business experience to bear to tackle the situation head-on to ensure a future for the company and its employees.

Over the next few months many changes are in the pipeline. The first to come to fruition is the appointment of a new investor, Matthew Gibbard, onto the Tingdene board of directors, alongside Ian Wilkins and Nick Burgess. Matthew Gibbard has more than 20 years’ experience in various aspects of the park homes industry and will take on the role of leading the company forward. The recent launch of Tingdene’s new-look sales centre is a prime example of the changes visitors will see. The sales centre has always formed an integral part of Tingdene’s marketing approach and it is the only one of its kind in the industry. It features an excellent display of room settings which allows Tingdene’s customers to choose the interior finish for their home with ease and in comfort. Over the next few months the interior furnishing options will change, allowing even more choice.

Each park home and leisure lodge will be designed around customers’ exact requirements, a facility that Tingdene has always offered but which will be broadened in future.

The company also says that each customer will have a dedicated personal sales advisor who will be available throughout the whole process – from order, through production to the time when the finishing touches are made when the home is sited. Tingdene also intends that, where possible, that same sales advisor will be able to visit the customer shortly after the move, to make sure all is well.

Customers will be able to buy the display show homes exhibited at Tingdene’s sales centre – an ideal opportunity for those looking for a quick delivery. Deliveries on ‘new builds’ are also said to be ‘very competitive’ at present.  

A restructuring of staff has taken place, so that expertise in certain areas is maximised, with the knock-on effect of providing a high-class service in all areas – production, transportation, siting, customer services, sales and marketing. Another aim is to have a dedicated siting team which will set up Tingdene’s homes on their customer parks where ‘attention to detail’ will be the motto.  
In response to customer demand, Tingdene is considering bringing back old model names such as The Villa and The Alpine Lodge which proved very popular in the past. These will be slightly different from their antecedents, though, with changes that will bring them up-to-the-minute in terms of styling, décor, fixtures, fittings and equipment, but nevertheless at keen prices.  

Nick Burgess, group sales and marketing director, told us that the past year has undoubtedly been difficult for the company. ‘However, we have some strong propositions to offer customers. We (the directors and the new ‘team’) are dedicated and focused on providing new initiatives over the coming months, and look forward to welcoming new partners on board for what promises to be exciting times ahead.’

Staff on this magazine wish the restructured Tingdene well in its endeavours and will look forward to reviewing some of its ‘new home – old name’ models in the future.
