Omar commits to a future in Brandon

julynewsomarOmar Park Homes has committed its future to Brandon in Suffolk, a town which has been its home since 1975, by signing a 10 year lease for its current 13½ acre site with Forest Heath District Council.

Omar, which is celebrating its 50th year of trading, is proud of its long standing association with Brandon and its position as the town’s largest employer.  The business has invested significant funds on its current site over the past 37 years.  The site currently boasts 160,000 sq ft of manufacturing facility with 5 production lines, 5,000 sq ft office block and a Showground which is open to the public.  Omar instigated a rolling programme of improvements to the site 2 years ago under the banner of Project Pride and are very pleased to have secured their long term future on the site.

Chief Executive and co-owner Dean Westmoreland said, ‘We are very pleased that Forest Heath District Council understood the opportunity of buying our current site as an excellent investment of Council funds.  Not only does it maintain 150 key jobs in Brandon but provides via our rent an excellent return on the Council’s investment.’
Omar Chairman and co-owner, Paul Pleszko added, ‘I am extremely pleased that we have secured our future here in Brandon on a site my father brought the business to 37 years ago.  I would like to thank Tenon and Lloyds Bank for their patience and support in enabling us to transition the site into Forest Heath ownership, their support for our business in difficult economic times has been truly outstanding.”

Forest Heath District Council Leader, Cllr James Waters, said: ‘ We are committed to supporting businesses in our district so I am delighted that we have such an excellent result with Omar Park Homes.’

Omar will be displaying some of its new homes at the following shows this year:
