What is your favourite thing about owning a park home or lodge?

Big day at Tingdene Homes’ Visitor Centre a success

Big day at Tingdene Homes’ Visitor Centre a success

One of the UK’s best-known park home and leisure lodge manufacturers opened its doors to the public in October.
Tingdene Homes’ ever-popular open day event took place at its Visitor Centre in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, on 8 October.

Scores of visitors viewed a wealth of Tingdene homes, which are on permanent display at the state-of-the-art complex. They also got to talk to the friendly Tingdene team and have their questions answered.

But there was much more in store for attendees. There was a free treasure hunt, with a top prize of an overnight hotel stay and a dinner-for-two. There were guided factory tours, offering a valuable insight into the build process, and a chance to understand the technical aspects of construction.

Park site operators were also on hand throughout the day to discuss what their developments have to offer. Tingdene’s Locate-a-park team also helped customers with their park-related queries.

Refreshments were available with a light buffet lunch also provided.  For more information about Tingdene Homes, please visit

Cornish park raises cash for life saving defibrillator

The residents’ association at a Cornish park raised more than £2,500 to buy a defibrillator in just six weeks with the help of big-hearted insurance company, Towergate.

The committee at Honicombe Park, in Callington, purchased the life-saving defibrillator and a cabinet to house it in, exceeding their £2,400 target and raising an impressive £2,691.66 in total.

Park residents participated by filling hexagon-shaped Smartie tubes with 20p coins; each tube, if filled to the top, contained £12. This idea, the brainchild of the residents’ association treasurer Terry Smith, helped garner £518 of the total.

Specialist Kintech recently won a contract with Bourne Leisure for its recently-launched SafeStor all-steel storage unit to be made available for sale to owners of all holiday homes and static caravans at the majority of Bourne’s 37 Haven parks throughout the UK.

The Haven sites accommodate approximately 26,000 holiday homes and caravans, and, within the first 12 weeks of the arrangement being finalised, Kintech had sold over 750 SafeStor units.

Kintech Sales Director Shaun Caddick said: ‘Bourne Leisure has specified SafeStor because its galvanised steel construction means that it is non-combustible, strong and weatherproof, and its multi point locking system with anti-drill and pick properties offers high levels of security.’
